The actual details of HOW the conman met Dieter Roterburg change with each telling.

Some say they met in a Vegas jail cell, after both men independently tried to fleece the same casino, on the same night.

Others tell of a street scam gone wrong - after he tried to pickpocket Dieter, during a particularly crowded cups-and-balls routine.

Whatever the case, it is widely known that anytime the conman was in town - Calliope, Dieter’s wife, would do everything in her power to stop the pair meeting up… bad influences to the last.
